UK Department for Health and Social Care has confirmed travel for giving blood to a NHS centre is permitted within the current coronavirus restrictions.

Communicators at the UK’s blood and transplants services are promoting the message that blood and platelet donations are essential travel under the category of “medical need and helping a vulnerable person”.
Rules on giving blood during the current coronavirus outbreak in England. The NHS Blood and Transplant Service includes an online search tool where individuals can check whether they can are eligible to donate if they have travelled abroad recently.
