Comms Unplugged 2018 line-up

Drum roll please, this year’s Comms Unplugged headliners have been revealed.

Georg-Iamunplugged2017Georgia Turner, Co-Creator of the event, told LPS news: “We have Sam Hodges, the Head of Comms for actual Twitter UK! Speaking in or field, at an event with no WiFi or tech. Oooh, the irony!

“We’ve got Andy Martin, a newspaper editor with 35 years experience in local and regional journalism, and awesome entrepreneur Giles Henschel from Olives et al bringing us the ‘Disruption Hour’. Plus the unconference solution zone ‘The Vent Tent’, a bundle of well-being activities and a whole lot more.  In fact, the full line-up is still to be announced, but just look how great it is already.”

Comms Unplugged is a conference for public sector communications people, with a vibrant and refreshing programme of professional development sessions, taking place during two days, 13-15 September 2018, in Dorset. Whilst around two-thirds of the programme focuses on professional development with speakers and workshops, one third of the time at the event is dedicated to wellbeing activities. Georgia shared with the LPS: “This is because the ethos of Comms Unplugged is to provide a perfect combo that balances learning with time out from tech and emails, so delegates can focus on personal, physical and mental health and happiness. It is run in marquees with well-being sessions held in a field, with no tech or wifi and delegates camping in tents.” There are local B&Bs for those who don’t want to camp.

This is the second year of the event, which also gains CIPR attendees CPD points.
