Future of digital engagement

Do you work or support communications and PR in local government or public services? Would you like to develop your skills and meet others in other local authorities? Book for the CIPR Local Public Services AGM and Digital Panel discussion on 25 March 2015.

Find out how you could work with the team or be elected to the group committee. The AGM will take place at CIPR’s HQ in Russell Square, London, from 5.30pm and will include the election of the CIPR LPS committee for 2015/16. Anyone wishing to stand for the committee will need to complete the nomination form – contact the CIPR LPS for more details of the election process and how to stand for the group.

‘The Future of Digital Engagement’ digital panel discussion 2015

Three of the UK’s senior speakers on all things digital will look at the key trends in digital engagement for the future. This panel discussion, will follow the LPS AGM on 25 March 2015. Registration will open at 6pm for the start of this CPD event. The panellists will include:

• Rob Brown FCIPR, Founding Partner of Rule 5, CIPR President elect for 2016 and member of the CIPR’s Social Media Panel

• Dave Briggs, digital strategist and Director of WorkSmart Consultancy

• Charlotte Beckett, Head of Digital, Four Communications

Rob Brown FCIPR Founding Partner at Rule 5 in MediaCityUK and Shoreditch delivering PR, communications and digital strategies. Rob is listed in the PR Week Powerbook 2008-2014. He was named the 4th most respected individual working in PR in the UK in New Media Age’s ‘Reputation Online’ in 2011. He was awarded for Outstanding Contribution to Social Media in the national SomeComms Awards in 2011 and presented with the Stephen Tallents Medal by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) in 2013 for service to the industry. Rob was invited by the Executive Director for Government Communications to assist with the government’s communication capability review in 2013/14. He is President elect of the CIPR and will take on the role of President in January 2016. Rob is a member of the CIPR Executive Board and founding chair of the CIPR social media panel.

Dave Briggs Dave has a long and varied experience in local and central government, where he has worked in roles specialising in communications, policy, learning and development and digital, and a period working on digital engagement at 10 Downing Street. His passion is for making social change happen, particularly in a local context.

Charlotte Beckett Charlotte has more than 14 years’ digital experience and has worked both client and agency side with a range of private, public and third sector clients. She believes in integration, the concept of ‘make, measure, learn’ and in turning that data into actionable insight.
